GIS Software Available on Campus

Washington University in St. Louis currently maintains an annual campus wide site license for the ESRI ArcGIS Software, making it available to all students, faculty, and staff for teaching and research purposes.  WU employees may install ArcGIS on their desktop or laptop system.  Current students may request an extended Student Evaluation License that enables access to the software for a full year.  See this page for details.  You may also access ArcGIS desktop in the GIS Teaching Lab (Rudolph Hall room 308) and the GIS Research Studio (Rudolph Hall room 183) and in many of the other computer labs on campus.

In addition to the ArcGIS software, the following resources are available in the GIS Research Studio:

  • Walk-in access to one of our staff during GIS Help Desk hours
  • Other specialized software including:
    • Autodesk
    • Bentley Microstation
    • ERDAS ER Mapper (GIS)
    • ERDAS Imagine (image manipulation/analysis)
    • FME Professional (geospatial data conversion)
    • Wolfram Mathematica
