The "Treasures" database is vital for pursuing preservation of silent films. It contains unique information about the silent film holdings from archives around the world.

A search for "film preservation" retrienves a concise introduction, but consider additional search terms such as "photography". A grasp of photographic concepts is essential for understanding film technology.
