General Collections Care for Users

This guide gives users some guidelines on the care and handling of library materials in the general collections.

Keep Materials Dry

Protect books from inclement weather. Moisture provides the necessary conditions for mold germination.

Rainy-Day Bags

When it is raining ask for a rainy-day bag if you do not already have a protective bag for your materials. You should also ask for one when you have too many books to carry safely. Pack the bag carefully.
