Access Granted Video Shorts 2013 Contest

Rubric

Winner Selection

One winner will be selected from each category for a total of 3 first  place winners. The categories include:

  • Scholarly Video - like a Ted Talk, present research findings, the maker's or another scholar using Open Access scholarly sources
  • Original Performance - record your own performance or work
  • Video Mashup - rework OA music, visual (static or moving) images etc.
Rubric

Winners will be chosen based on three judging criteria applied by the  panel of judges at the following weight:

  • 50% Content (Originality and creativity)
  • 25% Communication Strategy (An effective communication strategy might include: Narration, Interview, Still Images, Music, and or Text/Graphics)
  • 25% Presentation Style (Things to consider in terms of a successful presentation strategy: Video Quality, Sound Quality, Appropriate Transitions, and or Opening Title/Credits)
Disqualification/Ineligibilty

Entries will be automatically disqualified or deemed ineliglble if the following criteria is not met:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at Washington University in St. Louis
  • Only one entry per student
  • Video must be 5 minutes or less
  • Video must be one of these file types: mp4, wmv, or mov
  • Video must use Open Access, public domain materials or original content only
  • Video must give attribution to sources and contributors in the credits
  • Video must contain a Creative Commons (CC) License
