MOBIUS is a consortium of over 60 academic and regional libraries mostly in the state of Missouri. It is also a union catalog of the holdings of member libraries. MOBIUS was created to allow faculty, students, and staff at member institutions to borrow materials from other academic libraries.
You can submit requests in two ways:
How long does a MOBIUS request take to arrive?
Most books are available for pickup at the WU library of your choice usually within 3-7 days. You will receive an email notice when the item arrives. Use My Catalog to check on the status of your MOBIUS requests.
How long can I keep MOBIUS materials?
The loan period for all MOBIUS materials is 4 weeks. You may renew items twice. If you do not return books promptly, you will be billed and your borrowing privileges will be blocked. As a shared arrangement, the success of MOBIUS depends on the cooperation of all participants.
Is there a limit for MOBIUS requests?
Faculty and graduate students can have a maximum of 30 requests or checkouts at any time. Undergraduate students can have a maximum of 20 requests or checkouts.
Can MOBIUS materials be delivered to me on campus?
Faculty and staff on Danforth and North campuses may select Fac&Staff Campus Box Delivery as the pickup location when placing a MOBIUS request. Faculty and staff at West Campus may select West Campus Box Delivery as the pickup location. These materials will be delivered to the campus box that is listed in the WU Directory. FAQ for WU Libraries Campus Box Delivery service can be found in Ask Us!
What is the difference between WU Libraries Catalog and the MOBIUS Catalog?
The WU Libraries Catalog contains the holdings of all libraries at Washington University except the Medical Library. The MOBIUS catalog contains all of the WU holdings, again not including the Medical Library, plus the holdings of the libraries of most Missouri colleges and universities. It includes the MERLIN catalog, library holdings of the four University of Missouri campuses: Columbia, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Rolla.
