Introduction to Women & Popular Culture at MGHL

This guide provides information about mid-century popular culture depictions of women in the MGHL collections as well as suggestions of other helpful resources.

Types of materials include: original artwork, magazines, tear sheets (a page removed from a magazine), advertisements, illustrated fiction, and comic books

Subjects include: femininity; domesticity; motherhood and parenting; relationships and sexuality; beauty, health, and hygiene; clothing and fashion; women's fiction; women as consumers; work and labor...just to name a few.
