The NIH Public Access Policy ensures that the public has access to the published results of NIH funded research. It requires scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to the digital archive PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication.

It's easier to comply with this policy when you start BEFORE you publish!

These were submission methods in April 2014 for the journals where Brown School faculty have published most often. Such procedures do change so please check or ask when you publish to ensure the same methods continue.
NOTE: Additional steps after submission include (1) Approve the Submission (2) Get and include the PMCID on funding requests and renewals, etc.
