Welcome

Welcome to the WU Library research guide Funding Resources for the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. This guide provides information on finding grants, funding, professional development and other opportunities in architecture, art and design.

Please contact Jennifer Akins with any questions relating to this guide, other WU Library services, or research in Art or Art History.

The Sam Fox School Research Office is headed by Enrique Von Rohr, please contact him for more information on developing a timeline, funding strategy, writing, general assistance with proposals and WU research policy.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research serves the WU research community and offers a proposal development toolkit for faculty and students that focuses on Arts and Interdisciplinary resarch projects. Funding resources are available throughout the site as well as the institutional legal requirements that must be followed when receiving funding through WU.

If you are planning to apply for a grant please check if the funding agency supports individuals or non-profit organizations. If they only support non-profits organizations (501c3), of which WU is one, then you will need Dean approval to submit the application.

Off Campus Access

While some of the resources in this guide are freely available, most research databases and electronic journals and many online library services have access restrictions that require that you be a current Washington University student, faculty member, or staff member. See this page for help.
