Off-Campus Access (Proxy Server and VPN)

Use this guide to log into the proxy server, get access to electronic resources from off-campus, and get tips on how to use off-campus access.

Google Scholar

Look for and click the “Get It! @ WashU” link next to each result, not the article title. Use the "Get It! @ WashU" link to get the full text via the Libraries’ subscriptions. If you don't see a "Get It! @ WashU" link next to a result, try clicking on the title. Sometimes, Google Scholar will link to the library resource that way.

Goggle Scholar

Use our WashU-proxied Google Scholar link on or off campus. Login with your WUSTL Key to authenticate your status. This will display "Get it! @ WashU" links next to results.  If a link is not displaying, see if there is a "Check Library Holdings" link under the result you are interested in.

Please use the Report a Problem with the Proxy Server(Off-campus Access) Form to let us know if you run into any sites that you can’t access – especially if they are electronic resources that you would get through the Libraries.

Worldcat

WorldCatFirstSearch

WorldCat is a useful tool for finding items not held by WashU Libraries, that you could then request through Interlibrary Loan.  If you are on campus, links will automatically display in WorldCat that will take you directly to Interlibrary Loan request forms.

Off campus?  Just use the proxied WorldCat link to see the same ILL links as you do on campus.
