Choose your name for academic identity

When you first begin to share scholarly work and publish, do some thinking about what name you will use.  ORCiD can bring together work posted under different names and help credit your work to you, it doesn't hurt to have a unique name.  Think about how or whether you'll use a middle initial or what you would do if you legally changed your last name. If your name is something like John Smith, consider using your middle initial consistently.
