WU Libraries Instruction Community of Practice

The goals of the Washington University Libraries Instruction Community of Practice are to

  1. Disseminate information to WU library instructors regarding library instruction within our local context and the broader profession
  2. Create information about library instruction including sharable lesson plans, assessments, and communications/talking points for librarians to use when discussing instruction with faculty and administrators
  3. Increase the instructional literacy of the teaching librarians and staff of the WU Libraries via training and professional development

Critical Questions

  • What, precisely, do we want each student to learn?
  • What are the signs that we should be looking for that will tell us when each student has learned it?
  • If a student has a hard time with a particular topic or subject, what do we have to do in response?
