I direct the activities of the Scholarly Communication Services (SCS) program for University Libraries, which include copyright and permissions advisory services, fair use, authors’ rights, open access, OER, tools for digital publishing and data sharing, guidance on licensing, and support for new modes of research dissemination.
Our unit is also responsible for promoting campus-wide scholarly communication programming and engagement initiatives to help faculty and students use, create, and publish scholarship in ways that promote its accessibility and impact.
We offer individual consultations, workshops, customized presentations, and help navigating rights issues and policies that connect to research, teaching, and library services.
NOTE: The Office of the Vice Chancellor and General Counsel (OGC) manages the legal affairs of Washington University in St. Louis. SCS staff offer general information but do not provide legal advice specific to your situation.
