More about Generation Open theme

You may choose any subject for your Access Granted submission.  However, since this is an International Open Access Week event,   10% of the judging rubric will be for making a connection with "openness."  The theme for Open Access week this year is "Generation Open," because of the importance of students and early career researchers in the world's transition to Open Access; changes in scholarly publishing affect scholars and researchers at all stages of their careers but the changes may be most significant early in careers.

Here are some ideas to consider:

  • open access textbooks; open educational resources
  • open sharing of data
  • open science, open lab notebooks
  • culture of openness in social media is changing the world
  • net neutrality and the future of scholarship
  • should I make my dissertation open access or keep it embargoed?
  • the Open Access Button
  • self- archiving - the easy, no-cost way to make your work freely available
  • need more ideas: see past Sparky Awards, Right to Research, Creative Commons, or Open Access Directory
