Using R to analyze your data

A quick guide to get you up, running, and computing with the statistical software R.

What is R?

R is a free, open source statistical programming language.  It is useful for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.  It complements workflows that require the use of other software.

This LibGuide will provide some details on installing and using R, as well as where to go for more information.

Installation tips plus links are available on the tab "Installing R and RStudio".

If you are planning to attend a Research Studio and would like to follow along with R on your own machine, please download both R and RStudio. If you already have them installed, please make sure that your versions are current.
