The Hathi Trust Digital Library is expanding fair use access of electronic books so that academic communities can continue teaching and learning while access to physical collections is unavailable. This Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS) provides authenticated, limited access to specific materials in our collection.

To use the resource:

• Visit hathitrust.org and select the Log In button near the top right corner, and type “Washington University in St. Louis.” You will be prompted to sign-in with your WUSTL Key.
• From there, you should be able to browse, search, and access HathiTrust holdings from their home page.

A few things to note:

• Upon logging in to HathiTrust, our authenticated users will have access to copyrighted titles that Washington University Libraries owns.
• Users will be able to read the book online, in the web browser, but will not be able to download the work in full.
• The number of concurrent users of a book will depend upon the number of copies the library holds. If one copy is owned by the library, then only one user will be able to access the book at a time.
• Users will “check out” a copy for a limited period of time and can renew the checkout or return the book.
