HathiTrust was founded in 2008 as a not-for-profit collaborative of academic and research libraries now preserving 18+ million digitized items in 400+ languages in the HathiTrust Digital Library. HathiTrust offers reading access to the fullest extent allowable by U.S. and international copyright law, as well as text and data mining tools from the HathiTrust Research Center.
WashU's membership in HathiTrust gives WashU researchers full access to:
- Search all HathiTrust volumes from HathiTrust Catalog
- Download full-text of over 6.5 million volumes in the public domain, including U.S. federal documents and works no longer in copyright
- Create personal collections of HathiTrust materials to help your research or for use with the HathiTrust Research Center tools
- Analyze collections using the HathiTrust Research Center text mining tools or ordering a data capsule for large-scale analysis of works in copyright.
