Finding Library Books

1. Search the catalog

Use subject terms to find materials in the library catalog. In Advanced Search there are options to limit materials by format and language.

Subject = Religious minorities -- Egypt.
This search retrieves all records including Subject Headings starting with "Religious minorities -- Egypt". Subject headings can also be combined. More examples:

Qurʼan -- Criticism, interpretation, etc.

Subject: Human Ecology AND Keyword: (egypt or libya or tunisia or libya or morocco or "north africa")

Subject: cook* or food AND Subject: (palestine or jordan or syria or lebanon or iraq)

Subject: poetry AND Keyword: ("saudi arabia" or yemen or oman or emirates or bahrain or qatar)

2. Find book OR request for pick-up

Location in the catalog tells you which campus library has the book

  • Visit that library building, and use the call number to find the right shelf.
  • Click request button in the catalog and staff will find the book and let you know when it can be picked-up
