Steps to Deposit

To submit your research data: 

  1. Visit:

  2. Click on my account

    • If you have used Open Scholarship before, Sign In

    • If you have not, click "Sign Up"

  3. Once you have created an account and are logged in

    • Go to "Author Corner"

    • Select "Submit Research"

    • Read and sign submission agreement

  4. A submission form will open

    • Fill in the form fields as much as possible

    • Upload your files

    • Click "Submit"


What happens after you submit:

  1. You will receive a confirmation email.

  2.  A curator will assign a DOI, begin the curation process, and contact you to let you know curation has begun

    • The DOI will not yet be live

    • The record will be published in the repository with a note that it's unavailable because it's in curation

  3. The curator will review the data for FAIRness (findability, accessibility, interoperability, resuability)

  4. Once the initial review occurs, the curator may get back to you with questions (within 5 business days)

  5. Once you and the curator have settled on changes to make the data FAIR, the curator will:

    • make sure the FAIR data is uploaded

    • make sure the FAIR readme is uploaded

    • update the metadata

    • take off the "in curation" note

    • make the DOI live

  6. You will receive a confirmation email.
