A Guide to LGBTQIA+ Research

A guide to resources and strategies for research on marginalized sexualities and gender experiences

Welcome

This guide is an entry point for research on LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Aromantic, and adjacent experiences) people, stories, and concerns. This is a rapidly growing field that is often highly affected by contemporary politics. As a result, such a guide will never be comprehensive and the terminology is often contested. It is inappropriate to use any writing or resources included here to invalidate anyone's lived experiences or expressions.

For example- these dictionaries and terminology guides may support general learning, however language use and understanding may not be consistent on an individual level.
