To maintain a library experience that is conducive to learning, we ask that our employees and visitors follow the below policies.
Masks
Effective Monday, March 14, masking is optional for all Danforth Campus spaces. There will be no limit on gathering sizes.
Food and Drink
We trust our community to eat and drink in the reading room responsibly*. This means:
- Users will clean up after themselves.
- Drinks will be kept in covered containers.
* We reserve the right to ask anyone to not eat or drink in the reading room for any reason.
Fragrance Policy
Refrain from wearing scented products, including but not limited to colognes, after-shave lotions, perfumes, deodorants, body/face lotions, hair sprays or similar products and keep a reasonable level of hygiene.
Noise
- Use headphones or ear buds when watching videos or listening to audible media. Headphones are available for check out at the Library Help Desk.
- Keep conversations brief and to a whisper.
- Set phone to vibrate.
- Move cell phone calls and longer conversations to the hall outside of the Library.
Smoking
Washington University in St. Louis is a smoke-free campus. This includes vaping and electronic cigarettes.
