Plan Ahead: Brown School Library wants to do everything we can to support our students, faculty, and staff while also protecting their health. Due to the need to coordinate appointments for access to library resources and services, it is more important than ever to plan ahead. For the most recent information and changes regarding Brown School Library resources and services, please refer back to this page. 

Services Available by Zoom Appointment to WUSTL Faculty, Staff, and Students Only.

  • Borrowing Materials - Curbside Pickup 
    • How to Use Curbside Pickup (Video
    • Patrons may begin requesting materials for curbside pickup June 8 though the library catalog
    • Appointments to pickup requested materials begin June 15
    • If you need assistance using the library catalog, you may view this video or make an appointment. Via Zoom, we will show you how to search the catalog, log into your account, and how to request materials. 
  • Returning Materials
    • Book drops on the Danforth campus remain closed with the exception of the Olin Library book return or drive-up return bins at these locations:
      - Throop Drive
      - South 40 on Shepley Drive
      - West Campus Library at 7425 Forsyth Blvd. 
    • Fines: Fines have been suspended/waived and loan times have been extended through September 1. 
    • Returning books by mail: If you will not be returning to campus and would like to ship books and materials back to the Libraries, please send to:

  • MOBIUS is currently unavailable. Loan times have been extended. If you need assistance contact
  • Interlibrary Loan is limited to electronic resources and print resources owned by Washington University libraries. 
  • Reference Support – WUSTL faculty, staff, and students may use our reference support services by appointment. The staff member with whom you schedule an appointment will work with you on how to have the appointment – by phone, email, or Zoom.
  • Digital Materials: Contact us to order digital materials, including books, streaming videos, and articles, for your courses and for assistance locating digital content for use in your courses. 
  • eBooks for Courses: Let us know if you are requiring an eBook for your class that we already have.  
  • Our Services Desk Is Closed.
  • Our Reading Room and Book Stacks Are Closed.
  • Brown School Library services and resources are not available to non-WUSTL faculty, staff, and students at this time until further notice.

Welcome to Brown School Library

The Brown School library is a full-service library that includes access to an extensive collection to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff across our public health, social policy, and social work programs.

Library staff provide a full range of services to support the academic and research success of the school community. Brown School librarians hold over 1,300 one-on-one meetings each year with students, faculty and staff, and provide course reserves for many class materials. With access to a robust online and print collection, the Brown community uses 50,000 online journal articles, 150,000 e-books and 7,000 print books annually.
