Plan Ahead: Brown School Library wants to do everything we can to support our students, faculty, and staff while also protecting their health. Due to the need to coordinate appointments for access to library resources and services, it is more important than ever to plan ahead. Reference Support – WUSTL faculty, staff, and students may use our reference support services by appointment. The staff member with whom you schedule an appointment will work with you on how to have the appointment – by phone, email, or Zoom.

Study Space: Our Reading Room and Book Stacks Are Closed.

Walk-ins: Pending further notice Olin Library, distributed libraries (law, business, art, etc.), and Brown School Library buildings are closed to walk-in visitors including WUSTL faculty, staff, and students.

Borrowing Physical Materials: Curbside Pickup 
Physical library materials can be requested through the online library catalog and picked up through Curbside Pickup. Curbside Pickup instructions available here

  • If you need assistance using the library catalog, you may make an appointment. Via Zoom, we will show you how to search the catalog, log into your account, and how to request materials. 
  • Returning Materials
    • Book drops in Brown School buildings remain closed
    • Olin Library book drops are open. Olin Library recommends using the drive-up return bins at these locations:
      - Throop Drive
      - South 40 on Shepley Drive
      - West Campus Library at 7425 Forsyth Blvd. 
    • Fines: Fines have been suspended/waived and loan times have been extended through September 1. 
    • Returning books by mail: If you will not be returning to campus and would like to ship books and materials back to the Libraries, please send to:

Welcome to Brown School Library

The Brown School library is a full-service library that includes access to an extensive collection to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff across our public health, social policy, and social work programs.

Library staff provide a full range of services to support the academic and research success of the school community. Brown School librarians hold over 1,300 one-on-one meetings each year with students, faculty and staff, and provide course reserves for many class materials. With access to a robust online and print collection, the Brown community uses 50,000 online journal articles, 150,000 e-books and 7,000 print books annually.
