Lidar and ArcGIS Pro

LiDAR data is a common form of elevation data and many users are interested in using this kind of data in their GIS projects.  This video from Joseph Kerski (ESRI) demonstrates several important tasks associated with obtaining and using LiDAR data in ArcGIS Pro.  The video includes examples of:

  • Searching and downloading LiDAR data from the National Map
  • Creating a LAS dataset (LASD) file to enable ArcGIS Pro to import and analyze LiDAR data
  • Creating derivative products (slope, aspect, contour lines)
  • Generating elevation profiles and viewsheds
