Guide for First Gen Students

This guide is designed to help first generation college students navigate through their years of college. It offers an array of helpful resources that can address some of the academic, financial and social struggles that can arise in college.

While in college, many parents and students learn very quickly that getting materials such as textbooks for class can be very expensive, and in some cases, impossible tasks. For example, according to College Board students in four-year universities set aside about $1,200 to spend on textbooks every year. However, with Be Textbook Savvy, the library hopes to help to alleviate some of those costs so that student can still have the materials that they need without having to spend so much money, or worse, go without these materials.
