Guide for First Gen Students

This guide is designed to help first generation college students navigate through their years of college. It offers an array of helpful resources that can address some of the academic, financial and social struggles that can arise in college.

Ways to Use the Library

  • Find study spaces for when you need a quiet, group, or collaborative spot. 
  • Learn how to use Mobius and other databases
  • Find and check out books, CDs, DVDs, and laptops
  • Get help from your librarian on anything including research papers, projects, presentations, and anything you are personally interested in.
  • Find materials that your professor put on reserve for your class (a copy that can be borrowed for short-term use) 
  • Access to 24/7 online journals, magazines, books, and scholarly websites
  • Use the computers to work on a paper or project
  • Print and copy
